Growing area: central Sardinia.
Climate: mediterranean climate, with low rainfall distributed spora- dically throughout the year, but concentrated almost enti- rely in autumn and winter. frequent north-westerly winds, high temperatures in spring and summer, mild in autumn, variable from dry and cold to mild in winter.
Soils: the soils are naturally sandy and clay-chalky, sub-alkaline, of a rocky, schistous character and medium textured, with moderate nutrient levels. Satisfactory levels of minerals add distinctive character.
Training method: bush (alberello and espallier).
Vineyard yield: 70 - 90 q/ha
Appearance: a limpid, luminous ruby red with purple highlights.
Bouquet: good intensity and lengthy. Rich and youthful, with hints of ripe red fruit and wild berry, such as redcurrant and ra- spberry, along with scents of violets and geranium.
Palate: dry, with a warmth that complements the youthful tannins.
Serving suggestions: grilled fat-rich fish, pasta with meat sauce, traditional sala- mi, soft cheeses.
Serving temperature: 16°c
Harvest: first decade of october.
Vinification: the wine macerates a minimum of 10 - 15 days, with regular pumpovers and punchdowns. It matures a minimum of 6 months in cement-lined vats and in twice -and thrice- used barriques, completed with 3 months in the bottle.
Alcohol: 13.5 - 14,5%
